The universe and us

Regular definition of Universe says that... that is no way to define the Universe, because the Universe is All. All that exists, all that has existed in the past and all that will exist in the future. That's the nature of the background where we, humans, live for a tiny moment in time.

And that's it, well an hipotetical picture that we will never be able to take, for obvious space - temporal reasons.
That's for sure a terrific image that humans can stand seeing on clear nights, so paceful, enormous and astounded. However, althought the universe seems populated by a huge amount of phisycal things, is mostly empty, void. A massive nothingness, useless without purpose nor meaning.
From almost every point of view, the Universe, this tremendous waste of space and time, moves without direction and is plenty of stars and planets that start up and collapse without doing nothing but a little travel, leaving the realm of existence without make any difference for the rest and for the whole universe.
In conclusion, it is not worthwhile to put in time trying to come across the meaning, the origin, the cause, the future end or the purpose of universe; even if we were capables of figure out what is going on with it, the fact is that it looks as if a big explosion has left a great amount of garbage in an absolute chaos without pattern, usefulnes and a future purpose.
It would seem that manking has been late for the real show.
